meaning of a dnb fan
... It's probably not what you'd expect,... the album incorporates Motown, R&B, Hip-Hop, Northern Soul, Jazz, Funk as well as D&B. The concept is superb - an album of all different musical genres but with a unified sound throughout; and they nearly pulled it off to a tee. Tracks like the Lauryn Hill like 'Fallin'; the Bullit-esque funk flavour of 'Off Key', or the soulful spoken word style of 'Music Is M' are all beautifully executed, as is 80% of the album. However I would suggest there are a few tracks here that are a bit cynically aimed at the charts, and stray towards a more commercial, slightly cheesier vibe. You can't be too critical with albums like these as it takes a lot of bottle to do something different; and this is a groundbreaking, genre-bending album that smacks of genuine talent. The production is excellent throughout, and Jenna G's vocal ability is absolutely unquestionable.

This is a must have album for any broadminded music lover, although its eminently missable if you only like drum & bass.
