the ultrahang reports

AGF (D) The german way to being Laurie Anderson. In the second part I was sleeping. That was good.
Goem (NL) Thats all eye-wash. Minimal.
Vladislav Delay (SF) The funny feminine blond guy made skandinavian rainforest music.
Frank Bretschneider (D) They said it was really fine. I was talking to my gf. That was nice too.
Wasteland (UK/USA) Experimental break, i liked it for 10 minutes.
Belgradeyard Sound System (YU) The serbian did it again. 210 bpm hardcore jazz break, senor coconut and billy jean, penality drum and bass, silent break song by Hal9000, oh my god, they were ... this time, i'd say quite interesting. they're like nannies in an industrial kindergarten.

silent sunday, so what's the tune, mr dj? well, this pest is kinda good in mood, it runs over and over, it's the "chicken spit" begins like a hip-hop beebop thing, but very childish. it' not stiff but strainded jazz, very unnatural for me. the second one "duke kerb" is more dynamic, the samples made of bells are just beautiful and unforgettable, then the third track "jefferson shuffle"'s a real grooviie iZborn track. then again a crap one, then a crazy one, then a beautiful downtempo ballad, then ... these guys made just a fun record, without thinkin about the sideeffects. how do i use to say? nice music in the background

one note samba

it's a hidden fave of mine, hidden in my medulla oblongata it's so familiar, so well-known, so aboriginal. every big name played this song, like quincy jones, frank sinatra, dizzy gillespie, perry-kinsley, even ugly duckling made a cover version. so you're ready for a little sing-a-long? it willn't be hard, it's about to sing one note, alright? o.k. ready, steady, go!

This is just a little samba, built upon a single note. Other notes are sure to follow, but the root is still that note ... Now this new note is the consequence of the one we've just been through As I'm bound to be the unavoidable consequence of you ... There's so many people who can talk and talk and talk And just say nothing or nearly nothing I have used up all the scale I know and at the end I've come To nothing I mean nothing So I come back to my first note as I must come back to you I will pour into that one note all the love I feel for you Any one who wants the whole show show do-re-mi-fa-so-la-si-do He will find himself with no show better play the note you know.

Daddy - Comeback

i was looking for some fresh fingerlickin' breaks in afrofilia records on tuesday. well, they were out of stock but dj caretaker said it'll be good. he was right. this dirty dirty noisy break is just like a male pair of skeewiff (if that'd be female). it contains a brilliant sample by jimmy hendrix, so it'd be endurable for people they dont like breakbeat. endurable? they'd be jumping and dancing like crazy mice!

that's not fair! why i didn't know this group? i mean, i knew almost every song, played in different sets by ursula1000, suhaid and negró but... why i didn't know the artist? why i didn't have this record earlier? why? it's full of party, full of overdriven emotions, you just jump up and down even while your sit in a chair, even while you work or travel on the tram. and you jump up and down in parties when you here this beat.

that's the ultimate iZborn music. you've got the well known jazz-funk theme's played on horns, hammonds, flutes, then you've got that female vocal, that 120 bpm, the instruments, the scratch, the hip-hop flavour, that black feeling... the only thing i'm missing is just the high-speed-dubbed rap.

again a good advice from dj caretaker
