cheap trick. get yourself many versions of a well-known songs, and if it's possible, than turn it bossa. or jazz. or funk. i agree, this is a great compilation, but at the end i had headache its still the same song and still the same jazzy interpretation, no hard rock, no disco, no bonnie m. and this gets boring.

lady miss kier

i'm just amazed by this lady. if you haven't got her name for the first sight, well, she's been the girl with the crazy retro dress in dee lite. (for beginners: dee lite - groove is in the heart, 1989) now, she's doing dj, same as boy george does, sometimes she writes tracks for krust and die, sometimes she works together with bootsy... but do you know what's really shocks me? listen her tracks from 1997. this lady's thinking 5 years forward.

skorpio - 1973-1993 ***
HCD 37689 hungaroton, 1993

1 Szevasz haver
2 A rohanás
3 Így szolt hozzám a dédapám
4 Rongylábkirály

6 Egy dal mindenkinek
7 Kelj fel, jóember

11 De jó lenne, haver (ha leszállnál a csajomról)
12 A vén koldus
13 A folyóparton ülve
14 Ne félj
15 Azt beszéli már az egész város

how i was praying the whole time not to meet any friend on the way back home from that dusty damp music store holding this cd in my hands. skorpio's an old hungarian rock band, music for the daddies. but why i wanted this stuff? just becouse the first track, szevasz haver. it has to be retouched, but there's the spirit in, that moves you, the percussions, the bass, the hammond. the rest of the cd's just average rock from the 70's with some enjoyable tracks. this cd contains the song, i hate of all songs, ever been written in hungarian music history: dédapám

first advice: set the following playlist to eliminate yoko her terrible tracks: 1,3,5,7,8,10,12.

one of the first albums i ever ever heard and i remember. we had it on tape, and as we were listening to that old BASF it was like a feast. that's what you call music with the mother milk, i was just three or like this. the second time i re-descovered this album was in 1995. and still, over and over time and time again i have to listen to this record. becouse of the pure harmony of love between john and yoko.

now i am watching the weels go round and round and round.

this one will be good, i feel. this one's going to erase all my silly thoughts, all my stress i had. it reminds me tin-tin-quartett, recalling the days i started my studies the days i was expecting i was hoping i was waiting.

Esmerine is Bruce Cawdron playing various percussive instruments and Becky Foon on cello. They are also joined by several guest musicians playing violin, harmonium and bass. On this disc they have created very emotive neo-classical melodies focussing on cello and percussion without the emphasis on guitars.

this isn't the empire strikes back. you know the rules - if you wanna make a series of something, you have to be really thoughtful. these people weren't. you get nothing new, just the same old song and dance. i wanted some fresh new approach remixing the jazz themes, but these are the same, we heard on verve remixed 1. and even less: i couldn't listen to felix da housecat (countryside nuptial disco), gotan project (boooring), layo and bushwacka (simply nothing) remixes. Fortunately there are my good old friends, i can trust: mr.scruff, funky lowlives, fila brazilia, dj spinna, koop, jaffa and the new fave dan the automator (huge remix!)

ps. comments on amazon.com. my english isn't the best i know but our friend from Kópavogur knows how to write a review.
This is a great 3xCD mix techno disk. Disk 1 is rhythm whit fantastic mixes. I specaly love how Tom mixes New Orders - Blue Monday vs. Tiga & Zynitherius - Sunglasses at Night together. CD2 is Melody and is as good as CD1, don't know what more is to say about CD2, it's lika CD1 but whit others traks. CD3 is harmony and is wery, wery slow. Non of thes disks are realy fast or hard, thay are slow and sounds great.

Mixmag says it'll be the album of the next month. I am sceptic. It's too loud, too noisy for me. The previous one (Rooty) has been noisy as well, I didn't like it so much as I wanted to like it. I have the same feelings when I listen to this one. Nice, funky tracks, with a branch of samples, vocals, a lot of stars (featuring Siouxsie Sioux without the Banshees, Meshell Ndegeocello, the jazz diva legend Totlyn Jackson, even NSync's JC Chasez :-) ) , but after the 5th track i have headache. Fortunately there's the last track Feels Like Home the fave of Basement Jaxx's too. A beautiful one.
